PM Shehbaz reiterates Pakistani nation’s heartfelt condolences to Quake-hit Turkiye people in meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday in Ankara.

On behalf of the entire nation of Pakistan, the Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives and the extensive damage brought on by the earthquake. The Prime Minister expressed his sincere condolences to President Erdogan and the Turkish nation on the tragic loss of thousands of precious lives and the significant infrastructure damage brought on by devastating earthquakes during their one-on-one meeting and during their delegation-level discussions.

President Erdogan thanked the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s resolute and unwavering support for Turkey following the devastating earthquake. He reaffirmed that the tenacious Turkish people will overcome this natural catastrophe with more strength and resolve than ever. As a special show of solidarity and support for Türkiye following the devastating earthquakes there, the Prime Minister is currently in Türkiye. Additionally, the Prime Minister will travel to earthquake-affected regions and communicate with local Pakistani rescue and recovery workers. The Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Marriyum Aurangzeb, SAPM Tariq Fatemi, and the Chairman of the NDMA, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, were in attendance with the Prime Minister.

Also in a tweet on Thursday, the Prime Minister has expressed profound condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on behalf of people and government of Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif assured Pakistan’s steadfast support to the Turkish President.

The Prime Minister said: “I am confident that under President’s leadership, Turkiye will emerge from this catastrophe stronger.”
