PM reviews task management system for SOE’s privatization process

A review meeting on the task management system set up for the state-owned enterprise (SOE) privatization process and its oversight was presided over by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Monday.

According to a news release from the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister emphasized that the government’s Uraan Pakistan economic reform and transformation project included the privatization of state-owned businesses while presiding over the review meeting held today at the office.

During the event, Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that cooperation is essential for Pakistan’s progress. “I will not permit additional losses in state-owned enterprises (SOEs) that are squandering the precious resources of the Pakistani people.” The PM stated that the government’s role is to provide business and investment facilities and policy initiatives, not to conduct business itself.
