On Sunday, Pakistan’s prime minister, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, reaffirmed his commitment to working towards the social advancement and inclusion of all minorities in the country.
In a message, the prime minister said, “I extend my heartful greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and around the world, on the occasion of Easter.”
More than just a time for festivity and celebration, he explained, Easter served as a reminder to follow the teachings of Prophet Isa (AS) in the areas of love, tolerance, and forgiveness. By doing so, people were encouraged to promote harmony and peace in the world today, which is plagued by violence and strife.
The prime minister also acknowledged the tremendous contributions made by the Christian community to the fight for Pakistan’s founding on this auspicious day.
