PM reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to multilateralism, rights

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to multilateralism and emphasised the UN’s incapacity to fairly apply its charter as the globe commemorates the organization’s 79th anniversary today.

In a social media post on X, the prime minister described UN Day as a chance to renew commitment to the goals and ideals of the UN Charter, which served as the cornerstone for a world that is peaceful and wealthy.

He emphasised that the increasing number of international conflicts, including non-traditional problems like climate change, increased geopolitical tensions, competing great powers, and the worsening economic conditions in the Global South, were clear indicators that the world order was in serious disarray.
