PM questions KP govt’s failure to establish CTD

On Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif questioned the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration about why, in spite of receiving Rs590 billion over the previous 14 years, the department had not been established.

In response to a point of order raised by Sunni Ittehad Council member and newly elected NA Speaker Asad Qaiser, the prime minister emphasised that the KP province was given an extra one percent share under the NFC in order to support its efforts in combating terrorism.

He stated that during the height of terrorism in 2010, the KP province suffered the most, followed by Balochistan and other provinces, and that the previous NFC Award had been decided upon by the Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani government.
