On Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vehemently denounced the heinous terrorist attack on Imam Bargah Ali bin Abu Talib in the Wadi Kabir neighbourhood of Muscat on July 16 and pledged Pakistan’s assistance to Oman in combating terrorism in all of its manifestations.
Speaking with Sultanate of Oman Ambassador Fahad Sulaiman Khalaf Al Kharusi during a courtesy call, the prime minister expressed gratitude for Oman’s prompt response and cooperation with the Pakistani mission in the repatriation of the deceased bodies and the treatment of the injured.
Six individuals, including four Pakistani nationals, had died as a result of the attack on Imam Bargah, and over thirty more people were injured—nearly all of them were Pakistanis.
