PM lauds Finland’s support for UNSC membership

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Finland for helping Pakistan secure a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the 2025–2026 term.
The prime minister of Finland expressed gratitude for their support of Pakistan in response to President Alexander Stubb’s words on X. He also reaffirmed his nation’s commitment to preserving international law and the UN Charter.

President Stubb had already congratulated Somalia, Panama, Greece, Denmark, Pakistan, and Panama on gaining non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
Together with promising cooperation in bolstering the UN and the international system, the president of Finland also sent his best wishes to Pakistan.

In the meantime, Saulos Chilima, the vice president of Malawi, passed away in a terrible plane accident on Wednesday, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his profound sadness over the loss.
