PM felicitates nation on record increase in foreign remittances

On Friday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the country on a record-breaking rise in foreign remittances in December 2024 and said the accusations made by individuals who had been calling for the country’s economy to be stopped were unfounded.

Foreign remittances grew 5.6% month over month in December 2024, reaching US$3.1 billion compared to November 2024.

According to a news release from the prime minister, remittances increased by a record 29.3% in December 2024 compared to the same month in 2023.

“Record increase in the foreign remittances reflects the strong commitment of the overseas Pakistanis for playing their role in development of the country,” stated the prime minister.

Pakistan is currently experiencing economic growth after attaining economic stability.
