PM declares Education Emergency

In an effort to reclaim the lost ground and establish Pakistan as one of the world’s most educated nations, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday proclaimed a “Education Emergency” that will enrol some 26 million children who are not in school and encourage literacy.

With unwavering determination and the backing of the provinces, we will confront the issue of 26 million children who are not attending school today. We’ll send them back to class.I therefore proclaim an emergency in Pakistani education going forward.Speaking during the National Conference on Education Emergency, the prime minister declared, “We will do it in Pakistan the way we did it in Punjab.”

He announced that he would be personally overseeing the plan to the assembly of federal ministers, lawmakers, vice-chancellors, diplomats, and development partners.
