PM constitutes body to review climate change governance, funds

Along with other senior members, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed a high-level committee to examine Climate Change Governance and Mechanisms to Access Climate Funds. The committee has named Dr. Abid Suleri, Executive Director of the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), and Climate Change Minister Romina Khursheed Alam as members.

The Minister of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination has released an extensive announcement outlining the purpose, directive, guidelines, and membership roster of the Committee.
The committee, which consists of government officials, lawmakers, members from environmental and civil society organisations, the business sector, research institutes, and experts/advisors with subject-matter expertise, will be chaired by the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission.
