PM approves reforms plan for revival of maritime sector

A comprehensive reform plan for the nation’s maritime industry’s full resurrection has received approval from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The proposal calls for the establishment of the Pakistan Maritime and Seaport Authority, and its execution will be overseen by a commission led by the defense minister.
To oversee the execution of the authorized actions, the committee will meet every two weeks.
In the meantime, the National Ports Master Plan will be updated, the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation will be restructured, and port rates will be standardized.
The digitization of aquaculture, seaports, and other industries will receive particular emphasis. The reforms plan also calls for the establishment of new terminals at various seaports.
