GAWADAR: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Tuesday a relief package worth Rs 2 million for each of the relatives of the deceased, Rs 0.5 million for the injured, and Rs 750,000 for those whose houses were entirely destroyed in the rain-stricken parts of Balochistan. After touring the districts hit by the rain, the prime minister, who arrived here the very day he took office, informed the media that the government would also compensate the people whose houses were partially destroyed by the severe rains on February 26 with Rs 350,000. In the company of Balochistani Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and lawmakers Atta Tarar and Jam Kamal Khan, he pledged that the government would not abandon the bereaved populace.
