The National Assembly (NA) was told on Friday by the State Minister for Finance and Revenue that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to Europe should resume shortly.
The European Union and the UK have banned PIA flights. In response, he stated, “A detailed action plan from Pakistan has been dispatched to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the verification process is currently underway.”
He continued, “We anticipate that the verification process will be finished in two to three months and that flights to Europe will resume.”
The minister said that Pakistan was removed from the European Commission’s list of countries of concern on May 14 and called this a positive development.
