Pezeshkian takes over Iran’s presidential office

Masoud Pezeshkian, the next president of Iran, succeeded Mohammad Mokhber as acting leader of state.
Based on Article 110 of the Constitution, the Supreme Leader approved Pezeshkian as the ninth president of the Islamic Republic on Sunday morning at a ceremony held at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Hosseiniyeh.

Ayatollah Khamenei’s declaration, read by the chairman of his office, declared, “I endorse his Excellency Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian as the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
