People want real change

One year ago, then government left no stone unturned to mock the then opposition leader Imran Khan for his dream to become the Prime Minister. PML-N led government and PPP led provincial government used to mock PTI for their inexperience and incompetence and that they had no expertise to run the federal system which requires a lot of effort, diplomacy and strategists to tackle peace internally, externally and to stir the economy, so the circle of payments keeps rotating. But as soon as the PTI formed the government after winning 2018 general elections, their competence aside, they started to maneuver the issues that were directly related to a common man.

Although the inflation which we experienced during interim setup also helped the current government to generate more revenue without even taking the blame for the tariff hike of that period, but on the other hand the apparently tough decisions that PTI government took by inflating the tariff and petrol prices have costed the government its repute in first 100 days.

Their competence or incompetence aside, reduction in tariff or imposition of subsidy shall cover the bigger hike under the umbrella of a smaller reversal. Since, subsidy is on the cards and PTI is willing to reduce prices of petroleum against OGRA’s recommendations, it would be an intelligent move to soothe the people with a little quick fix. In the upcoming years, government is planning to maneuver the situation in the same manner making it convenient for the finance ministry to deal with the ongoing economic challenge.

But if these tactics are used beyond boundaries and continue to hamper the uplift of a common man, it could render as a reason for revolt. PTI led government must move on from maneuvering to management in the best public interest, people shall support as they are well aware of the economic pressure that has been built up over the last decade.
