Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, the Senate’s chairman, reaffirmed the Parliament’s commitment to aiding the nation’s socioeconomic recovery on Wednesday. He emphasised that Pakistan’s economic stability still depends on political stability.
After engaging with the business community, he made this statement during his speech at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).
He declared, “I propose a Charter of Economy, inspired by the spirit of our Charter of Democracy which helped restore democracy.” He went on to say that the charter would be a collaborative, bipartisan endeavour to stabilise and expand Pakistan’s economy, guaranteeing policy continuity that encourages confidence for long-term investment.
The Senate Chairman stated that even during difficult times, Pakistan’s economic momentum has been fuelled by the diligent work and steadfast dedication of its businesspeople and industrialists.
