In contrast, the Pakistani Parliament has supported important laws that prevent gender violence and promote women’s empowerment in the nation.During the opening keynote address of the two-day Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (AFPPD) meeting on “Gender Empowerment and Green Economy,” the speaker emphasised that the high-ranking dignitaries’ attendance demonstrated the excellent leadership and collaboration of regional parliamentarians in accomplishing the goals of gender equality and women’s empowerment.The event was attended by lawmakers from up to fifteen Asian countries, as well as representatives from Pakistan, the diplomatic community, prominent political personalities, government officials, INGOs, and foreign donor organisations.
