Pakistan, Turkmenistan agree to deepen economic, defense ties

In addition to reaffirming their commitment to boosting bilateral trade to make it commensurate with potential, Pakistan and Turkmenistan agreed on Tuesday to step up efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, and defence areas.

The third round of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC), co-chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, discussed the bilateral ties.

Following their meeting, the foreign ministers jointly addressed the media during a press stakeout, informing them that the BPC had reviewed bilateral relations from every angle in addition to discussing the creation of closer economic ties in investment priority sectors.
