During the ‘International Day of Epidemic Preparedness’ on Wednesday, Dr. Nadeem Jan, the federal minister for health, emphasised the value of teamwork and declared that Pakistan would take the lead in bolstering the health emergency systems of developing nations by organising its first-ever global health security summit. In an interview with the media, Pakistan’s health minister announced that the government will complete its strategic road map to successfully address health emergencies and epidemics. The minister further stated that the “Global Health Security Summit” will take place in the federal capital of Pakistan on January 10 and 11. He said that hosting the summit will demonstrate Pakistan’s commitment to leading the health sector and shielding citizens from pandemics around the world.
