ISLAMABAD: Sajid Hussain Turi, the federal minister for overseas Pakistan and human resource development, declared on Monday that this year, the government will send over one million laborers, both skilled and unskilled, abroad.
He announced that a high-level Saudi government delegation would visit Pakistan very soon to make the final worker selection. Candidates who passed the technical test would be qualified for employment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he added. According to the minister, the current administration is working to sign Memorandums of Understandings (MoUs) with about 50 nations in order to export workers from Pakistan, including those from Germany, Italy, Greece, and Romania. He claimed that South Korea was looking for 10,000 workers, and Japan was also requesting skilled labor from Pakistan.
Sajid Turi said that over 27,000 block passport had been restored to Overseas Pakistanis and the issue of illegal Pakistani immigrants in Europe would be address soon.The issue of visas for Malta Republic would be resolved through Pakistani Embassy in Italy, he added.
