‘Pakistan, Saudia stood by each other, through thick and thin’

ISLAMABAD: Raja Pervez Ashraf, Speaker of the National Assembly, stated on Wednesday that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have long-standing fraternal ties that are firmly rooted in common religion, shared values, and shared culture.

In the meeting with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ambassador, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, arrived, he said, “Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have stood by each other, through thick and thin.” He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing the importance of the relationship between the two countries. He also expressed Pakistan’s gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its assistance to Pakistan during difficult times.

He stated that Pakistan greatly valued KSA’s bilateral and GCC-wide support for the FATF. He continued, “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has played a very important role in the OIC for important Muslim causes, especially on Palestine, Kashmir, and Afghanistan.” The current level of cooperation was praised by both parties, who also emphasized the need to strengthen it in a number of areas of shared interest. The ambassador invited the speaker to visit Saudi Arabia during their meeting. Accepting the invitation, the speaker expressed the hope that the visit would further deepen relations through delegation exchanges. The speaker took the chance to congratulate the ambassador on Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day and to send him his best wishes for the future.
