On Wednesday, President Dr. Arif Alvi stated that Pakistan needed a proactive strategy to deal with the dangers to the stability of the region given the difficult global environment. Speaking at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad’s (ISSI) inaugural Islamabad Conclave 2023 session, “Pakistan in a changing world,” he said that Pakistan needs to deliberately rediscover its vision in light of rivalry between superpowers and meddling from surrounding governments. In this regard, the president stressed that effective policymaking and deliberations require close collaboration between lawmakers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Defence. President Alvi stated that policies required to be in sync with regional and systemic changes in light of Pakistan’s strategic transition from geopolitics to geoeconomics and the regional environment following India’s aggressive actions.
