Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, the acting prime minister, asserted that Pakistan has a robust and dynamic organisational system to handle natural disasters. On Sunday, in honour of National Resilience Day, he stated that the National Disaster Management Authority and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities represent a robust and dynamic institutional structure for dealing with calamities. To reduce losses, according to Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, the system needs to be strengthened even more. He explained that National Resilience Day was commemorated on October 8 in honour of the people of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, who heroically faced the terrible and agonising catastrophe. The day also serves as a reminder that we live in a disaster-prone region.
