Pakistan wants to strengthen its bilateral cooperation with Russia, especially in the areas of energy and barter trade, according to President Asif Ali Zardari’s statement on Thursday.
During a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Islamabad, Albert P. Khorev, the president stressed that encouraging Russian banks to open branches in Pakistan would help to advance bilateral trade.
Additionally, he advocated for closer cultural ties between Pakistan and Russia, especially in the media and entertainment sectors.
President Zardari wished Russian President Vladimir Putin well on his reelection and sent him a note of congratulations.
In addition to advancing regional peace, he voiced optimism that Russia will rapidly prosper under President Putin’s direction.
