‘Pakistan deserves better’, says Aseefa on federal Budget

Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, the first lady of Pakistan and leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), objected to Budget 2024–25, stating that during her inaugural statement to the National Assembly on Sunday, the people of Pakistan should have a better financial plan for the upcoming fiscal year.
Aseefa was formally acknowledged as the first lady in March of this year. She went on to win an election to fill her father Asif Ali Zardari’s NA-207 Shaheed Benazirabad seat, which became available when he was elected president of Pakistan.
The government and opposition benches were still at odds over a military operation called Azm-e-Istehkam aimed at eliminating terrorism from the nation, which caused chaos during the lower house session that was called to discuss the budget.
