Pakistan has insisted that the UN Security Council (UNSC) carry out an exhaustive probe to determine the means by which the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) obtained cutting-edge military hardware. The TTP and its affiliates pose a serious threat to Pakistan because of their planned cross-border terrorist attacks, according to Ambassador Munir Akram, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, who spoke at the UNSC’s United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) briefing on Afghanistan. He claimed that in addition to inflicting significant casualties on soldiers, the attacks also seriously damaged other installations and the military in Pakistan. “Just this year alone, these attacks have claimed the lives of hundreds of our courageous soldiers and citizens, and last week, a terrorist organisation linked to the TTP carried out a horrific attack on our security officers.
