In response to Iran’s attack on Israel, Pakistan on Sunday expressed its “deep concern” over the recent escalation in the Middle East, referring to the event as a “failure of diplomacy”.
“Pakistan is closely observing the current events in the Middle East with great concern. The Foreign Office released a statement saying, “Today’s developments demonstrate the consequences of the breakdown of diplomacy.”
The FO made its announcement following Tehran’s deployment of over 300 drones and missiles against Israel since Saturday in retaliation for the Israeli airstrike on its consulate in Damascus, which claimed the lives of numerous individuals, including senior commanders of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Mohammed Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi.
Iranian missiles hit Israel, according to Israeli army spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari.
