On Monday, Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to collaborating with the Commonwealth to advance its agenda of climate resilience, education, youth and women empowerment, and connectivity.Speaking at a joint press stakeout with Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Scotland following their meeting, the deputy prime minister stated that Pakistan was also determined to support initiatives aimed at modernising and strengthening the Commonwealth to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century, in addition to continuing to actively participate in fostering relationships among member states.He expressed gratitude to the secretary-general, who is making her first five-day visit to this place, for her eight years of “dedication and grace” in serving the organisation, as well as for her contribution in modernising the view and advancing the Commonwealth’s values and mission.
