Pakistan, Azerbaijan affirm commitment to expand bilateral ties

The commitment of Pakistan and Azerbaijan to extending mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including energy, trade, connectivity, defence, and people-to-people ties, has been reaffirmed.These subjects were covered in Friday’s meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr between President Asif Ali Zardari and visiting President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.President Asif Ali Zardari welcomed President Ilham Aliyev and stated that both nations had outstanding relations and that there was much room for future improvement in a number of areas of shared interest.In order to strengthen bilateral connections, he emphasised the necessity of more frequent interactions between the corporate communities in Azerbaijan and Pakistan.He emphasised the significance of Gwadar Port and suggested that Azerbaijan and Central Asian nations may gain from it in order to advance regional connectivity, trade, and tourism.
