Pakistan achieved macroeconomic stability: Finance Minister

Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, the federal minister of finance and revenue, stated on Thursday that Pakistan has attained macroeconomic stability and that the economy is currently progressing towards achieving its objectives.
While leading Pakistan’s team to the annual meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) headquarters in Washington, Aurangzeb made these remarks to the AFP.
He has praised improvements in the nation’s current account deficit and the stabilisation of the Pakistani rupee, which has lost around 65% of its value since 2020 in relation to the US dollar.
“In May and June on the back of this macroeconomic stability and building up on our reserves, we paid more than $2 billion to our existing international investors,” he stated.
