Pak, UK sign LoI on LEAs

The purpose of the Letter of Intent (LoI) between Pakistan and Britain is to enhance cooperation between their law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and in criminal matters.

In London, British Home Secretary James Cleverly and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi witnessed the signing of the LoI.

Along with encouraging collaboration in drug prevention and serious criminal investigations, the effort will aid in the fight against illegal migration. A Joint Steering Committee will be in charge of carrying it out.

The National Police Bureau, the British High Commission, and the Interior Ministry will all have representatives on the group. Additionally, it would strengthen bilateral support in detecting criminal activity at air and maritime borders as well as cooperative efforts to counteract illegal financial threats. Naqvi and James Cleverly had earlier talked about how to improve bilateral ties.
