On Thursday, Pakistan’s prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, expressed his desire to turn the country’s strong and positive relations with Qatar into a strong and mutually beneficial economic alliance.
During a meeting with Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, the prime minister emphasised that both nations should keep collaborating to enhance bilateral cooperation in all areas of shared interest, particularly trade and investment.
He stated that Pakistan would want to see Qatar increase its investment portfolio in Pakistan in priority industries, highlighting the significant role that the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) plays in the country. Accordingly, he promised, the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) will be able to guarantee prompt cooperation.
