Hours after Pakistan launched military operations inside Iran to target terrorists’ hideouts, the ambassadors of Pakistan and Iran held “some positive exchanges,” emphasising constructive communication and the rebuilding of confidence. Pakistan killed several terrorists of Pakistani descent on Thursday morning by hitting their hideouts in the Iranian province of Siestan-o-Baluchistan, in a series of “highly complex” and “specifically targeted” precision military attacks. The day before, Pakistan took measures in response to an alleged “blatant breach of Pakistan’s sovereignty” and violation of international law by the Iranian side in its airspace. In addition to drawing criticism from around the globe, the events forced Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and Interim Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani to cancel their respective foreign trips to Uganda and Switzerland.
