Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has approved a technical extra grant for the Election Commission of Pakistan in the amount of 42.528 billion rupees. The decision was given at an ECC meeting today in Islamabad, which was presided over by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) received a technical supplemental award of 200 million rupees from the meeting. The Ministry of Commerce requested permission to export vegetable ghee and cooking oil from export processing zones to Afghanistan via land routes, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting requested permission to charge electricity rates to movie theatres. Both requests were approved during the meeting. Additionally, it approved modified tobacco cessation rates for 2023–2024.
