In an interview, the minister said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was a constitutionally independent entity and that he had been in regular contact with it ever since the day he took his oath of office. The minister declared that the polls would take place on the day specified by the Election Commission because he had complete faith and confidence in the ECP’s abilities and leadership. In response to a query, he stated that Pakistan People’s Party was one of the country’s main political parties. “We are going through the phase of election and during the environment of election, any party and its leadership had the freedom to give their stand on any important issue” , he said. Murtaza Solangi stated that all registered political parties had equal access to the courts and media in Pakistan. He also added that both enjoyed freedom. In the approaching elections, he continued, the Pakistani Election Commission and caretaker administration would guarantee fair opportunity for all political parties. According to the minister, PTI is not prohibited from operating as a political party. In response to a query, he stated that the previous parliament and its elected government decided to privatise specific entities, not the caretaker government.
