Muhammad Ali, the acting minister for energy, power, and petroleum, stated on Tuesday that the government was working tirelessly to supply energy to companies and people through imported LNG, particularly during the winter, in order to improve the lives of people and enterprises. He was speaking at the 29th Annual Technical Conference (ATC), which the Pakistan Association of Petroleum Geoscientists (PAPG) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) were co-organizing. At the conference were Mr Mohamed Al Marzouqi, SPE Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Regional Director and EVP Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Chairman ATC and Chairperson SPE Pakistan Section Faheem Haider, Respectable Chief Executives and Country Heads of Oil & Gas companies, Geoscientists, and Petroleum Engineers.
In response to a serious pollution situation, interim Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi declared a four-day holiday in some divisions on Tuesday. CM Naqvi announced during a news conference that these holidays will take effect on Thursday, which is recognised as Iqbal Day, a national holiday, and would last until Sunday. He continued, “The goal of this action is to lessen the effects of the smog problem.” The chief executive of the province announced that November 9 is set aside as a national holiday and that Punjab’s offices and schools will be closed on November 10. Naqvi emphasised that although schools are already closed on Saturdays and Sundays, they will have to close this Saturday as well if they are open.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) announced on Tuesday that they would be running together in the next general elections, which are set for February 8, 2024. The event occurred after PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif met with a team from the MQM-P, headed by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar, and Syed Mustafa Kamal, in the party’s Model Town secretariat in Lahore. The government has planned to strengthen primary and secondary level health facilities and introduce a project to provide “uniform health services packages for citizen,” wherein the upgrading of over 500 primary health centre (PHC) hospitals nationwide has begun, according to Dr. Nadeem Jan, the acting federal minister for health. He stated in an interview that January 2024 will mark the opening of the remodelled emergency rooms, intensive care units, and other cutting-edge medical facilities for patients in different hospitals. Modern, high-quality treatment is being provided to patients at the hospital through renovations, particularly for the impoverished, he continued.

RAWALPINDI: On Tuesday, the martyrs of the Tirah intelligence-based operation (IBO) were given full military honours when they were buried in their hometowns. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reports that today at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi, the funeral prayers for Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Hassan Haider, a 42-year-old resident of DHA-2, Islamabad, who embraced shahadat in the Tirah Valley, Khyber District, were offered. In Islamabad, the martyr Shaheed was buried with full military honours. At the Namaz e Janaza were the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defence, the CJCSC, the COAS, as well as several other high military and civilian officials, soldiers, civilians, and relatives of Shaheed.

Pakistan on Monday voiced deep outrage over the remarks made by an Israeli official that his country was thinking of launching a nuclear bomb on Gaza, the territory where Hamas and Israeli forces have been fighting for more than a month. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement saying, “We are appalled by statement of an Israeli minister threatening nuclear force against Palestinians.” Speaking on Sunday, Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu stated that launching a “nuclear bomb” on the Gaza Strip is “an option,” the local Anadolu Agency reported. The Foreign Office stated that the statement shows a desire for genocide and ethnic cleansing. “This is a wake up call for int’l community to the threat posed by Israeli aggression to regional peace, security & stability,” the ministry of foreign affairs stated.
The World Health Organisation and the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination collaborated on Monday to renovate 464 medical facilities nationwide, marking a significant advancement towards the government’s “top agenda” goal of Universal Health Coverage. In this regard, the PM House hosted a ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the health ministry and the World Health Organisation. The occasion also marked the delivery of medical equipment, including mobile clinics, ambulances, and vaccination vans, valued at over Rs 2 billion. The signing of the document by WHO Representative in Pakistan Dr. Palitha Mahipala and Secretary of Health Iftikhar Ali Shallwani was observed by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Nadeem Jan.
