According to a press release from the PM Office Media Wing, caretaker chief ministers and pertinent officials were present at the meeting, along with caretaker ministers of finance, energy, and national food security (Drs. Shamshad Akhtar, Muhammad Ali, Kausar Abdullah Malik, and Gohar Ejaz).

The military’s media wing stated on Sunday that security forces killed at least five terrorists on Saturday night during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Mashkai area of the Awaran district, Balochistan. Security forces carried out the IBO in response to reports of terrorist activity, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Five terrorists were dispatched to hell during the operation following a fierce firefight between the terrorists and the own troops. Along with the terrorists’ hideout being discovered, a cache of weapons, ammo, and explosives was also found, according to the ISPR. It stated that the purpose of the sanitization operation was to get rid of any further terrorists that might be in the region. Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), is said to have escaped an armed attack in Dera Ismail Khan. An official from the JUI-F has verified the incident and said that the attack happened close to DI Khan’s Ziark Interchange. Maulana Fazlur Rehman was travelling in a convoy when there was an exchange of gunfire. Thankfully, the JUI-F head was not hurt during the ordeal.
On Sunday, while attempting to cross into Pakistan over the Afghan border, three terrorists were slain by security personnel in the general Batwar area of Bajaur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). According to a news statement from Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the three terrorists were slain in the exchange of gunfire that followed after the security personnel in the Batwar area noticed their activity. From them, weapons, ammo, and explosives were also retrieved. In the meantime, a Pakistan Army soldier bravely resisted a terrorist’s attempt to fire on the border post in the Spinwam neighbourhood of North Waziristan District, KP, accepting martyrdom in the process. The soldier who was martyred was named as Naik Abdul Rauf, a 31-year-old inhabitant of the Rahim Yar Khan district.
