On December 17, 2019, a special court sentenced him to death under Article 6 of the Constitution. Declared “unconstitutional” on January 13, 2020, the Lahore High Court (LHC) upheld the decision of a special court established to consider the high treason case under Article 6.
The decision of the returning officer (RO) to reject Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s nomination papers from the NA-122 constituency in Lahore was maintained by an appellate panel that was constituted at the Lahore High Court (LHC).
