More than 120 Pakistani pilgrims were left stranded at an airport in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Tuesday night.
The tour head organising the trip dissappeared with the passports of the pilgrims, causing the them to miss their flight back home, reports suggest.
Passports were only returned to them over three hours after the flight had already departed.
“The pilgrims received their passports three hours after the flight had departed,” sources added. The pilgrims were scheduled to reach Lahore via Dubai.
The pilgrims have requested that the government and Pakistani Embassy in Baghdad help them return to the country.
