Vehari: The opening ceremony of English Works Program was conducted on Wednesday March 15 here at COMSATS University Vehari Campus. Mr. Karl Roger Deputy Director Public Affairs at US Consulate Office Lahore was welcomed by the students and authorities of the COMSATS University Vehari on the main gate with the beat of the Dhoul and cultural bhangra. He was brought in the bagghi to the auditorium. Mr. Karl Roger inaugurated the program in the presence of the Campus Director Dr. Saleem Farooq Shoukat, Project Director Dr. Nazia Suleman, faculty of COMSATS, students and teachers of the English Works program. The English Works Program is an initiative of the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The program aims to promote English language teaching and learning around the world, with a focus on helping students and teachers develop their English language proficiency. RELO Pakistan is the Regional English Language Office of the US Embassy in Pakistan. It is responsible for promoting English language education and teacher training in Pakistan. The opening ceremony of the English Works Program by RELO Pakistan US Consulate and COMSATS University Vehari was likely involved speeches by officials from the US Consulate and RELO Pakistan, performances of the students as well as the gratitude from the authorities of the COMSATS Vehari. The event was also having many features, cultural performances and demonstrations of English language teaching problems etc. Overall, the English Works Program is an important initiative in promoting English language education and fostering cultural exchange between the US and Pakistan. The chief guest appreciated the students, teachers and the administration of the COMSATS Vehari for making this program successful. All the guests and the students were served lunch after the program.
