Omar Ayub presents written draft of demands

Irfan Siddiqui, a spokesman for the government’s discussion committee, stated on Thursday that Omar Ayub Khan’s opposition group had given National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq a written draft of their demands.
Irfan Siddiqui read the joint press statement following a meeting of the negotiation committee led by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. He said that Omar Ayub read aloud the draft requests during the session and that they were circulated to committee members.
“The government committee will present its formal response to the opposition’s demands within seven working days,” Siddiqui said, adding that members of the opposition and government committees exchanged opinions on the demands.
Following discussions with both committees, the speaker of the national assembly will announce the date of the upcoming meeting.
