In a hastily convened meeting on Friday, the National Security Committee examined the tense security situation amidst Pakistan’s standoff with Iran and reiterated its unwavering commitment to the security and sovereignty of the nation. Two days after Tehran violated Pakistan’s sovereignty by shooting a missile towards Balochistan, which resulted in the terrible deaths of two children and the injuries of three girls, Pakistan began airstrikes on terrorist hideouts within Iran on Thursday in retaliation. The heads of intelligence agencies, Pakistan Air Force commander Zaheer Ahmad Babar, Army commander General Asim Munir, Navy Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani attended the NSC meeting, which was chaired by acting Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.
