As parliamentarians voiced concerns about the ongoing internet outages, IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja underlined on Wednesday that nothing is more important than national security.
The IT minister informed her fellow National Assembly members that “nothing is more important than national security,” but she also admitted that there were speed problems and that they were being fixed.
After Abdul Qadir Patel, an MNA for the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), expressed concerns about the internet speed and said that he was unable to even load images online, she responded.
“Online companies are at a halt. Education for kids is also deteriorating. We ought to know when the internet will function at its peak efficiency,” Patel stated.
