Mushahid Hussain Sayed, the chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Defence, has stated that the resolution of the Iran issue served as a “model of crisis management,” while non-state actors are now a threat to both national and regional security since they are connected to regional geopolitics. According to a press statement released here on Sunday, he was addressing at the Pakistan-China Institute conversation on “Outlook of Security Situation in South Asia in 2024,” which was held concurrently at the Quetta Press Club and Islamabad as part of the Friends of Silk Road (FOSR) Initiative. Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed emphasised the importance of the current situation, which is characterised by instability and change, in his inaugural speech. He examined China’s Global Security Initiative (GSI) in this light as a novel framework for amicably resolving security-related disputes.
