 No shortage of flour, wheat in Multan Division: Commissioner Aamir Khattak

Multan: Commissioner Multan Division Engineer Aamir Khattak has said that there is no shortage of wheat and flour in the entire division. The supply of flour is being ensured at the official rate. He expressed these views while presiding over the review meeting on wheat procurement campaign.  Commissioner Amir Khattak said that a target of purchasing 6 lakh metric tons of wheat has been fixed in Multan Division, 33 check points have been established to prevent smuggling.  The app facility has been provided at all registered shops, utility stores, three bags of flour will be provided free of cost to a household with an income of less than Rs 60,000. Flour is being provided at 210 trucking points in the division.  Administration can increase trucking points in case of rush of citizens, 237 utility stores, 2317 grocery stores in the division are registered under Benazir Income Support Program. Director Food Shouzab Saeed said that the Punjab government will buy the grain of wheat grown by the labor of the farmer, 3900 rupees per maund of wheat will be purchased and 3.5 million metric tons of wheat will be purchased in Punjab. All wheat purchase centers will remain open on Sunday as well. It will not be allowed to keep more than 1000 kg of wheat at private level. Maximum 700 bardana will be provided to the farmers as per requirement while DFC will be the authorized authority to provide 1000 bardana. DC Multan Umar Jahangir, concerned officers were also present in the meeting.
