Islamabad: According to Pakistan Telecommunication Athority Nine million websites operating against sexual content, blasphemy, state institutions, the judiciary and other important institutions have been shut down in the country, civilians filed several complaints of illegal content in the authority.

This was stated by the PTA at a meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecom in Islamabad, chaired by Ali Khan Jadoon, chairman committee.

During the meeting, PTA officials briefed the committee and said that these sites were closed by the PTA, but the FIA ??has the authority to take action against them. The FIA ??is a subsidiary of the Ministry of the Interior and has no details of the action against those operating those sites.

At the meeting, committee members unanimously approved the bill to expand the powers of the National Information Technology Board. According to the bill, the National Information Technology Board will take steps to run the federal government under ” E governance “.

PTA officials said they also have no LAW preventing a criminal from obtaining a new mobile SIM.
