ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) will meet all the Ministers of Health and Education today to review the situation of COVID-19 in the country and take decisions to curb the spread of the virus.
The positive proportion of corona virus has increased sharply in the last few days, especially in Karachi where it reached 40% on Sunday.
On Saturday, the NCOC will discuss epidemiological chart data, disease outbreaks, and proposed non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) in the country, especially in the context of growing disease trends in urban centers. The meeting was called later.
The forum asked the ministers to propose a new set of NPIs today, focusing on the education sector, public gatherings, wedding ceremonies, indoor / outdoor dining, and transport.
The NCOC had decided to liaise extensively with the provinces, especially the Sindh government, to take necessary steps to tackle the growing disease.
