Hasan and Hussain, the sons of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, received relief on Tuesday from an accountability court about their requests for acquittal in corruption cases involving the Al-Azizia Steel Mills, Flagship firm, and Avenfield residences. The National Accountability Court (NAB) withdrew its appeal against the trial court verdict on November 29, last year, and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz was cleared by the trial court in the Flagship reference, according to the brothers’ attorney Qazi Misbah, who made these claims earlier in the courtroom during their arguments. The attorney argued that since the primary suspect had been found not guilty, the case could not yet proceed based only on accusations of aiding and abetting criminal activity.
