Nawaz Sharif not returning to take revenge: Shehbaz

Shehbaz Sharif, the president of the Pakistan Muslim  League-Nawaz (PMLN), has informed the public that party leader Nawaz Sharif is returning to the nation not to exact “revenge but rather to rescue the country out of crisis.” Shehbaz reaffirmed and confirmed his brother’s return to Pakistan on October 21 while speaking to a political meeting in Lahore on Wednesday. He further stated that Nawaz is returning to serve the people of Pakistan and to once more start the country’s road towards prosperity. Due to health concerns, Nawaz, a three-time prime minister, has been living in self-imposed exile in London since November 2019. Because he failed to disclose a receivable salary, the Supreme Court permanently disqualified him in 2017.

Shehbaz stated that the Pakistani people had been “in fact deprived of development” as a result of the ousting of Nawaz and urged party members to prepare to welcome him. Speaking about the performance of the Nawaz-led PML-N administration, the former prime minister claimed that his brother took office at a time when the nation was subject to protracted periods of load-shedding. He said, “Nawaz Sharif eliminated load-shedding in just four years.” Comparing economic statistics and inflation between Nawaz Sharif’s previous and current terms as premier, the PML-N president remarked that “flour was at Rs35 per kilogramme during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure [as prime minister].” “I’ll work with Nawaz Sharif to get the nation back on track for growth and development.”
