Nation owes to its valiant warriors: COAS

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army personnel received military medals from Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, on Monday in recognition of their valiant actions during operations and their distinguished national service.
The nation’s independence and security are owed to the brave warriors who gave their lives for it, and the Army Chief declared, “Shuhada and Ghazis are our national heroes.” Indeed, our Shuhada are the nation’s rays of hope and resiliency.

Many senior Army officials as well as the families of the winners attended the investiture ceremony held today at General Headquarters (GHQ).

The military’s propaganda wing claims that the troops and officers received decorations such as Tamgha-I-Basalat and Sitara-I-Imtiaz (Military). It further stated that their family members had gotten Shuhada medals.

In his remarks, COAS General Asim Munir honoured the Shuhada (martyrs) and Ghazis, saying that nothing was more noble than giving one’s life in defence of one’s nation and that the sacrifices made by our martyrs fortify our determination to fight with the utmost commitment and spirit of sacrifice.

He also praised the courageous families of Shuhada for their sacrifices and upbeat demeanour.
